Vision

A world free of abuse and violence against children and youth.

Mission and aims

YouthEngage.com, as one of the empowerment programs of the WWSF Children-Youth section, has a mission to create a global culture for prevention of abuse and violence against children and young people.

The mission is translated into the following aims:

  • To empower young people to get involved in issues that affect them
  • To mobilize children and young people through youth groups, scout movements, sports clubs, school programs, working children’s organizations and children’s parliaments to become prevention actors
  • To build capacity, better skills and increase knowledge for prevention, using the WWSF guide “Prevention is Key“
  • To promote inter-youth dialogues and education to help reduce/end violence against and among young people
  • To promote and defend the Convention on the Rights of the Child (CRC)
  • To value the contributions of young people in achieving positive change
  • To share links to other education and support programs, conferences and events
  • To invite young people to sign a pledge to first prevent, and not condone or remain silent, about abuse and violence against themselves and others
  • To encourage government collaboration with young people and their organizations to set up structures for child/youth participation
  • To preserve the dignity and safety of children and young people
